BUNCO

It's been a fun weekend - busy as usual! Friday night was movie night with Jason and Rebecca. We watched "What's the Worst that Could Happen". It was very funny, and most of us hadn't see it before. Then somehow we got into internet videos, and came across yet another tear jerker. Jason thinks that everyone should watch this one every morning.
(Can ) Father-son bond of Dick and Rick Hoyt

If you want the story that goes along with the video, just ask. I think it's one of the most inspiring stories I've ever heard!

Saturday was BUNCO day! I got together with all of the girls in Spencer's family - and extended family to play this dice game. It was so fun, even though I didn't have much luck. I think I'll host a "House of Fire" game now that I see how much fun everyone had with this one. House of Fire is just as fun as BUNCO, but there is candy bar stealing involved, which makes it all the more dramatic.

Saturday night we went to a bbq at Jesse and Natalie's house along with Robbie and Kali. We played the game Loaded Questions and got to know each other a little too well. I learned that Spencer's best rhym with "I found a pretty cat..." was "a rat a tat tat". hahaha - and Jesse's was "on a flat". Lame. Robbie has some pretty embarrassing bathroom stories, and Kali likes birthday cake ice cream and wants to name a dog Bubbles. Those are probably the only appropriate things I can write about Kali. Every time I see her I learn something new....

Congratulations and Happy Belated Birthday and Anniversary!

I haven't had any time to post anything in the past week - life is so busy for us! I did want to give a shout out to KC, Kim, and Brooke for graduating, Tamir for turning 22, and Dean and Meg for making it through their first year of marriage. Way to go guys! Oh yeah, and one more..if Chelsey reads this, congrats on gettin' hitched! I am so beyond excited for you, and can't wait to see pictures!

The reason we've been so busy is because we've been house/land shopping all week. Our apartment lease is up in November, and we are tired of renting! If we find a good piece of land we are going to have our friend Dustin build us a house. The only problem is that everything is so expensive around here, and we want to stay decently close so I don't have too long of a commute. We did find some land on a lake for only $39,000 - so we might just invest in that for a weekend getaway spot. Hopefully we'll figure something out pretty soon. If not, we'll just stay in our apartments and keep throwing our money away.

Saturday we went to a Collective Soul concert at Chastain Park. We were on the lawn and not as close as we usually are, but it was still very enjoyable. There were some very entertaining drunk people next to us that kept us laughing the entire night. Sunday I gave a talk, and well, I'm just glad it's over! That about sums up our past week, so if we find a house or land, I'll be sure to keep this updated.

Proud to be an American

First thing's first. The last blog was a little extreme - but I will say that our neighbor has been playing her music so loud with the base up so high that it has prevented Spencer from falling asleep many times. He was just doing a little venting. Anyways..

We went and saw the movie World Trade Center last night. I was worried because it was a last minute decision and didn't know if I was emotionally prepared for it. It turned out to be pretty good and very worth seeing. Don't get me wrong, I cried the entire time, along with the entire theater. I liked it because it was the perspective of the policemen and showed how much courage a lot of those men had. It was just a good reminder to appreciate our country and how wonderful it was when we were so united. This morning's news about the terrorist attempts in England hit me a little harder because of the movie - I'm just glad they caught it before it happend.

I would recommend everyone seeing the movie. It isn't as depressing as it could have been, and it will help you appreciate the people who wanted to save lives. One more I would recommend is Talladega Nights. You can never go wrong with Will Ferrell!
