Charleston

As if I hadn't done enough traveling lately, Spencer and I went to Charleston this past weekend. His friend Erich goes to school there, there are beaches there, so we figured, why not?? I didn't take very many pictures because I think I'm all pictured out right now. I haven't taken this many pictures in my life since EFY. haha. Anyways...the trip was so fun!
We drove done Friday and got there in time to see a minor league baseball game. Afterwards there was a very nice fireworks show. Saturday we went to the beach. Sweated. Apparently sweated is not a word since it is giving me the red underlining. Oh well. I like it. Then Saturday night we went to a really fancy restaurant on Kings Street. We had called ahead of time to see what the dress code was, and they said it was fine to wear jeans as long as you wear a nice shirt. So we show up, the boys in jeans, me in a more casual skirt, and Marina (Erich's girlfriend) in nice capris. The hostesses look us over, obviously displeased with our choices, and put us at a table upstairs so we couldn't be seen by the fancier people. Whatever. The food was great. Spencer had a migraine, so that was a bummer. We went out for ice cream afterwards and walked around the town. It was great. Sunday we slept in, made ourselves a niiiice breakfast, then headed to the beach. This time we drove about an hour and went to Kiawah Island. It was beautiful! The sand was much less shelly (again, not a real word, but more convenient for me), and the waves were much bigger. Unfortunately while we were body surfing, I lost my sunglasses and broke Spencer's all in the same, and only, wave that I rode. I had no idea it would be so powerful. It was a very sad moment for me. Erich, Marina, and Spencer all trained for their swimming competitions/ tests that they have coming up. While they did that, I just layed out, read, and sweated. After a nice day at the beach we went to a place to eat lunch, and outside of the little town was a pond/marsh. It had this sign posted. We thought nothing of it until we saw an object moving toward us in the water. That's right, we actually saw a wild alligator! It was crazy! I only had one moment of being scared after Spencer threw a corn on the cob at it and I thought for sure we'd be eaten. I now feel like I have told you every last unnecessary detail of our trip.

In other news...I have changed up the blog a little. I thought it was about time. What do you think? The picture is a little large. Oh well. Also, for those of you who are interested... KC's wedding pictures are posted. I along with KC am obsessed with them. I love the photographer. You should really check them out to see how awesome her wedding was. KC Fest 2007

About 4 days after I got home from Israel, I left for San Fransisco to take part in KC Fest 2007. That is, the week of KC's wedding. It all started Monday night with the bachelorette party at the bocce ball place. It was quite fun. It's almost like bowling, but not really. I think my team won every time... but I'm not bragging or anything :)

Tuesday night KC had a bridal shower..."the one with all the grown ups" as I like to call it. It was fun - KC got a TON of gifts, most of them being red.

Wednesday KC went to the temple for her endowments. I love going to other temples and seeing how differently beautiful they are. Then we ate at an Italian place that had below par service. I didn't get my food until the entire table had already finished eating. Apparently they forgot to put my order in. Oh well.

Thursday Spencer flew in. We also had the bridesmaids go out for lunch and get our nails done. That night Kim and Dan took Spencer and I around San Fransisco. He'd never been before, so we just hit some of the hot spots. Aka the Golden Gate Bridge, Alcatraz, Pier 39, Ghiredelli Square, and Lombard Street. I think my favorite part was the hot brownie sundae. yummmm. The only downfall was the cold weather. Who would have thought it'd be so cold in Cali?

Friday Spencer and I went to the matinee of The Borne Ultimatum. It was SO good!! Friday was the ring ceremony rehearsal and bbq. Somehow us bridesmaids got talked into singing at the bbq. We changed the words to "Chapel of Love" and made them fitting to KC and Ashton. The night was actually entertaining as other people had their own performances. The food was delicious, the company was fun, so I can't complain.

Saturday was the big day. The girls woke up super early to get our hair and makeup done at KC's house. Then we headed to the temple for the ceremony. It went really well. A little long, but KC and Ashton seemed to be very happy. I love going to weddings to not only enjoy seeing others so happy, but also to remember mine and Spencer's. After the ceremony we took pictures then went to the Wise's for more pictures. The ring ceremony started at 5:00 and was very nice. The weather was perfect. My feet hurt for most of it, and I wanted to bust out laughing about 4 times, but other than that it was very nice. Have I mentioned that the dresses and shoes we wore are so cute and I LOVE them?? Well I do.

After the ceremony the party started. They hireed a band named Pure Ecstasy. No matter how much money they paid for them, I think they were worth every cent. They were so entertaining!! KC chose a great playlist for them and the dance floor was packed the whole night. Spencer put on a little show in the circle during one of the songs. It was great. The next morning I, along with Kim and Annie felt like we had a hangover. I'm wondering if the punch was spiked or if we really did party that hard.

I am so happy that I was able to be there for KC Fest '07!! I loved seeing all my BYU friends and acting as if no time had passed since we were freshmen. I loved that Spencer could get to know them, and vice versa. I'm so happy that KC and Ashton are married! KC was a STUNNING bride. Absolutely beautiful. I am so happy for them, I know they will enjoy all the benefits of married life. I think b/c I took so many pictures in Israel I didn't really feel like taking a lot of pictures this week. SO, for those of you who read this and took pictures, if you could, email me some pictures to stace002@gmail.com. Thanks!!

KC - I LOVE YOU and am so happy that you are now Mrs. Grewal!
