Drill Practice

For those of you who were wondering, there are officers that are close to graduation called candio's. They are the ones walking around taking these pictures. These are NOT staged!

I know, I know, this is SO wrong of me to do this....

I just couldn't help it! This is my nephew Jones. He hates wearing clothes, and decided to make an entrance while I was taking pictures of my newest nephew, Joseph.

For Tamir and Spencer

Both Tamir and Spencer requested pictures. So, for Tamir, this is what the inside of his closet looked like:
Oh, and the inspection is insane. They are checking to make sure every shirt is folded to the exact inch, your pants have to be hung perfectly symmetrical on the hanger, you can not have a speck of lint or dirt on any of your clothes, no loose threads, etc. You are also tested on some knowledge you are required to memorize, and then to top it off, as you can see from the previous post, the whole time they are inspecting, you are on your bed doing push ups, or what Spencer is doing is pushing his rifle back and forth like a bench press. You are also screaming your head off every time you speak to the drill instructor. Everything has to be perfect. It is really crazy. So you can imagine why I am SO relieved that he passed.

And Spencer, here is my new hair. I already explained everything to you, so no need to talk about it. Actually, the closest it looks to real life is the last one. The other ones make it look slightly darker. I was trying to take the picture with my phone on my own(obviously), and Kristi just kept laughing at me, so she finally came over and helped out. Sorry the rest of you have to waste your time looking at these. Nothing special. We aren't sure if Spencer is allowed to get attachments on his emails.

Thursday's Inspection

Spencer actually failed this inspection. He looks pretty tough though, huh? Now if only I can get him to clean our house as well as his room.

I talked to him on the phone today, and he is doing really well. Now that this inspection is done, he will start focusing on the academics. He should be able to get more than 3-6 hours of sleep at night, and hopefully not as many beatings. He says he's only lost 5 lbs. I don't think that is bad compared to most other guys. Spencer lost 5 lbs of pure muscle compared to 20 lbs of fat.

I hope everyone is enjoying these pictures. It seems that I have twice as many people visiting my site when I post his OCS pictures, so I will keep it up as long as you guys are enjoying them.

HE PASSED

Finally! I never mentioned that he also failed his inspection on Thursday, so there was a lot riding on today's inspection. On Thursday he had another DI inspect him that never passes anyone on the first day. In fact, he failed all 7 people that he inspected. So Spencer was pretty upset, and had to have 4 interviews with different leaders. If he had failed today, he would have been held back for 4 more weeks. I could hardly sleep last night - and every time I woke up, I'd say a prayer for him. Well while I was on the phone with Rebecca this morning, I got a text message from a number I didn't recognize, and all it said was "your husband passed". I was SO excited! I have no idea who texted me, but I don't really care. I am so happy that he has this stupid inspection behind him, and now he can start focusing on the academics.
