I just got home from seeing Spencer last night. It was seriously a perfect weekend. I flew in Friday night, and he met me at the hotel. The reunion was amazing. It had that anxious feeling like a first date. But the rest of the weekend was as if no time had passed, and was like a 2nd honeymoon...

People have been asking about if he looks different. It took a little while to get used to his shaved head, but by the end of the weekend I liked it. He's not really skinnier. He's still hot as ever.
We went and saw Batman, which Spencer has been DYING to go see since he first entered. He kept saying that he was going to be so mad if it had been taken out of theaters when he was allowed to go. He thoroughly enjoyed the movie. We also got to watch some college football, and Spencer was able to catch up on some MUCH needed sleep. I was seriously entertained watching him sleep. Before he entered OCS, he was the lightest sleeper I've ever seen. If I stepped foot in the room, he would pop up, wide awake. Well this weekend he'd lay down and be snoring in about a minute. One night I even got up, turned the air down, went to the bathroom, got some water, and he didn't budge. I guess I'm the only one who can really appreciate this.
Sunday we went to church then drove around Newport. Newport is BEAUTIFUL. Right on the water, a lot of greenery, and sailboats everywhere. Saturday night the storm Hannah came through, but luckily it was while we were sleeping. The rest of the weekend had perfect weather. Spencer got special permission to stay out longer since I was in town, so instead of reporting back at 4:00, he got to stay out til 8:00. I was very grateful. So then he left, and I stayed in the hotel room watching "America United" which is a concert in support of the troops. So there I was, crying, proud of my officer. It was great walking around with him while he was in uniform and seeing the reactions of everyday people. Many of them paid their respects and thanked him for what he was doing. Oh, and not to mention getting military discounts...a definite plus. I'm definitely glad to be sacrificing my husband for the good of the country.

These pictures are from his dinner he had Friday night. It was formal, so he got to wear his dress whites. Handsome, huh?? And now there are only 2 weeks from tomorrow that I will be back to Rhode Island to reclaim my husband for, well, the next couple of months.
