Woooah, Where Did the Time Go?!?

It's been 2.5 weeks since I last posted. Since I lasted posted some fun things and some sad things have happened. But most of you already know about them.

FUN: Brooke, Justin, and Mason came to visit! My first time meeting Mason. He's adorable, and has the greatest, biggest smile.

FUN: We went to the Dole Plantation, PCC, Diamond Head, and even attempted surfing. I say attempted because after trying for 1.5 hours, I only got up once. Every time I thought I caught the wave, my board would just nosedive and I would go flipping in every which way. It beat me up...I still have bruises on my knees, hips, and arms. But it was a fun challenge. Can't wait to go again, and maybe bring along someone who knows what they're doing.

FUN: I met some good friends out here who have been super nice, social and fun!

SAD: Spencer left. He'll be gone for about 6 months. Saying goodbye was not easy. Luckily we can email, and he can call about once a week. We've already received a lot of love and support from friends and family, so thank you! If any of you are interested, Spencer started another blog titled Lessons of a Lifetime. Go check it out.

PCC

While Pete and Lisa were here, we headed up to the Polynesian Cultural Center for a day to enjoy the villages, luau, and night show. It also happened to be mine and Spencer's 4 yr. anniversary, so we got to go up on stage and slow dance. In the Tahitian village, they taught us how to dance, and from the looks of it, I think Spencer was quite pleased...

A Little Film Action

I've been experimenting with film lately. I just like the feel of it - even with it's imperfections. The only problem is that it's so scary to not know what it's going to look like until you get it developed. It has made me more aware of what I'm shooting. Some of these were taken with a cheap $12 underwater camera, and others with a camera Brooke and Justin gave me.

Most of these were taken at Hanauma Bay - a very popular place to go snorkeling(obviously). A couple days after, we found another beach, MUCH closer(and free) that had just as many fish, but less people.

As you can see, I am not ashamed of my makeupless face. And those underwater ones of Spencer and me are hilarious. Hope you enjoy.

Independence Day

This July 4, I have a few things on my mind. It's a day to remember those who have fought for our country's freedom. This last week we went to Pearl Harbor and visited the USS Arizona Memorial. There I was reminded of the thousands of soldiers who died in just a few hours of attack. The video footage was unreal. Explosions, panic, chaos. I can't imagine what that would be like. I am grateful for all the brave soldiers who have fought - from back in the day against Britain, all the way up until now. I really don't even know what to say, but thank you.

The other thing I like to remember on July 4 is mine and Spencer's first kiss....6 years ago today! Oh- and speaking of our love life, we celebrated our 4 year anniversary on July 1st. We had a fun day at the PCC. Pictures to come soon.
