The trip started out great. We shared a plane with John McCain's son. We had an insanely crazy cab ride from the airport to our friend Christopher's apartment (who also happened to have a model roommate living there, trying to get picked up for fashion week's runway shows). Even though we got in kind of late, we decided to take a walk around his part of town. We found a place that had hot chocolate so delicious that even Spencer loved it. Later that evening we were walking down the street and this girl who looked really angry walked by us. I thought, "huh, that looks like Lindsay Lohan's girlfriend." Sure enough, a couple seconds later, an itty bitty teeny weeny skinny binny girl went running past us in heels and long flowing hair, yelling, "Samaaaantha!" I kept nudging Spencer and saying "that's Lindsay Lohan, that's Lindsay Lohan!". It looked as though they were having quite the dramatic fight. So that was our exciting celebrity spotting for the weekend. If only I had my camera, I probably could have made some quick cash with some magazines. Bummer. Looks like other people actually followed them to get the whole story and some pictures. We didn't care that much. Here's the story. Is Lindsay Lohan really worth writing an entire paragraph about and even adding in a link to the story? Definitely not. But oh well. Maybe somebody will care.

The next day we got up and went to town to do some shopping. We met up with Spencer's old boss and his partner for Valentine's lunch at a restaraunt called Orso. It was a fancy little Italian place that was sooo good. After that we did more walking and shopping and walking some more. By the time it was about late afternoon my feet were killing me! We went home and watched some NBA action.
Sunday we made our way to Central Park. It was a little chilly, but the park was beautiful. Very relaxing and fun just to watch all the different people there. We went to some fun stores, like the Apple store, and a NikeTown inside of Trump Towers. We continued to eat some of the most delicious food on earth, and relaxed at home once again that evening. We never got to be in Times Square at night. I had wanted to because I really wanted some pictures, but we were so worn out from walking all day, and I had some horrible blisters that kept me from wanting to stay out. Oh well....we've already been making our list of what we're going to do next time we go.

All in all, we loved being together in such a fun city for a special weekend. I'm not sure many of you know this, but Spencer will be gone from July-December this year, so any time that we get together now is always going to be more special.

Thank you Christopher for letting us stay at your place, and thank you Spencer for the spontaneous, romantic weekend!
