Spencer had one of his favorite people come visit, then shortly after, I had one of my very favorite people visit. My best friend KC and her husband and daughter came to visit for a week. Unfortunately the weather was not cooperating, and we only had one solid day of sunshine on the beach. But that does not mean we didn't enjoy our time together. I loved playing with Holland and having a baby in the house. And Ashton and Spencer loved shoe shopping and eating malasadas together. And KC and I enjoyed just talking and catching up on each others' lives. One day we will live closer together. One day.
Spencer frequently talks about his mission in Montreal, Canada (what RM doesn't frequently talk about their mission?). Without a doubt, the time that meant the most to him was his time with his companion, Conor. They were only together for 6 weeks, but it is obvious that these guys were meant to be friends. This is the 2nd time we have met up with Conor and his wife Amanda since their mission. First time was a few years ago in Florida. You know it's a good friend when they get together and it seems as though absolute no time has passed. I stole these pics from Amanda's Facebook since for some reason I didn't take many pictures.
Highlight of the week was definitely testimony meeting where Conor used the Hawaiian term "mahu". He had women crying because they were laughing so hard. If you don't know what it means, look it up.
I realize Easter was weeks ago, but I might as well share our picture we took in our backyard after church. Kind of wish Easter was a day later, because look at what we could have had in our picture.
It seems the older Spencer gets, the less he cares about his birthday. This year he turned 33, and all he wanted to do was watch Will Ferrell on Conan O'Brien as he shaved Conan's beard off. So that's what we did. And since he claims to be a brownie guy, I made him birthday brownies instead of a cake.
As you can see from the picture, he is still just a little kid. How can you not love this guy? A surprise brownie dough smeared on his teeth picture. Lovely.
