Current Ramblings - at 39 Weeks

(this picture taken at 37 weeks)

In about 4 1/2 hours I will be 39 weeks pregnant. Time is flying by, I can't seem to keep up! My belly (and other areas) is big. No doubt about that. For the most part I am still feeling really good. I usually don't go to bed without having to take a couple of Tums due to acid reflux. I get up 1-2 times at night to use the bathroom. And most of the time it's a shuffle to the bathroom because my feet feel so stiff. I can only imagine how funny I look making my way in the dark. Let's see, what else. Spencer's favorite part of the day is any time I have to get off the couch or out of the bed. He says pregnancy is the funniest thing that has ever happened to me, and I must say that I agree. My appetite has slowed down majorly since the 2nd trimester when I literally had to eat every 2 hours. At my appt about 3 weeks ago, the Dr. did an ultrasound and said the baby was measuring a teensy bit on the small side. He said she was about 5lb 6oz then, and the average was 5-6 lbs. So still average, but on the smaller side of average. We'll see how accurate that still is when she comes. I recently caught the craft bug. Thanks to Pinterest. That website came at the perfect time as I was putting the nursery together. It gave me a lot of great ideas, and I kept telling myself that I could do a lot of the projects. Nothing too glamorous, but I think we definitely saved some money by doing it myself. My parents get here in a little over a week. For now it's just the waiting game - although I don't really feel like every day is an eternity like some women say the last few days are. I am starting to feel more excitement rather than nervousness. But I still feel calm about it. She'll come when she comes, and until then I am enjoying life as it is.

Jon and Emily FINALLY made their way out here to Hawaii! We love visitors! We had such a great time with them. I unfortunately had to sit out on some things due to my enormous belly, but what we did do together(including a 2 mile hike completely uphill. At least I have a good idea how to induce labor when the time comes) was so fun and helped pass the time while I am waiting for baby to come. You can see Emily's account on her blog here and here. Jon and Emily - come back soon!

I was lucky enough to have some women from church throw me another baby shower. And I must admit, while I am not usually a big fan of baby shower games, it ended up being my favorite part of the whole thing. I haven't laughed that hard in a long, long time. First they gave us a handout of questions they had previously asked Spencer regarding baby things. We had to guess out of 3 choices what his answer would be for each question. I literally thought I did great, but no, I think I got the lowest score of anyone. Perhaps I have a little too much confidence in him?!? Anyways, the video was a hit.

The next game was just as funny. Everyone got a paper that had pictures of Spencer and me as kids. We had to cut out the pictures and put together a face that we thought this baby girl would look like. They all turned out pretty creepy looking, but again, it was so funny.

I am so thankful for people out here in Hawaii who love me enough to do all of this for me and our little growing family!

A while back (yes, I am way behind on blogging), we had a fun little family reunion here in Hawaii. Dean and Natalie came out(again) to celebrate their one year anniversary. Justin also came out with his Honor Guard at the same time, so we were able to hang out. Unfortunately we didn't get to see them perform due to the windiness of the day, but they did pose for some pictures.
