Charleston

As if I hadn't done enough traveling lately, Spencer and I went to Charleston this past weekend. His friend Erich goes to school there, there are beaches there, so we figured, why not?? I didn't take very many pictures because I think I'm all pictured out right now. I haven't taken this many pictures in my life since EFY. haha. Anyways...the trip was so fun!
We drove done Friday and got there in time to see a minor league baseball game. Afterwards there was a very nice fireworks show. Saturday we went to the beach. Sweated. Apparently sweated is not a word since it is giving me the red underlining. Oh well. I like it. Then Saturday night we went to a really fancy restaurant on Kings Street. We had called ahead of time to see what the dress code was, and they said it was fine to wear jeans as long as you wear a nice shirt. So we show up, the boys in jeans, me in a more casual skirt, and Marina (Erich's girlfriend) in nice capris. The hostesses look us over, obviously displeased with our choices, and put us at a table upstairs so we couldn't be seen by the fancier people. Whatever. The food was great. Spencer had a migraine, so that was a bummer. We went out for ice cream afterwards and walked around the town. It was great. Sunday we slept in, made ourselves a niiiice breakfast, then headed to the beach. This time we drove about an hour and went to Kiawah Island. It was beautiful! The sand was much less shelly (again, not a real word, but more convenient for me), and the waves were much bigger. Unfortunately while we were body surfing, I lost my sunglasses and broke Spencer's all in the same, and only, wave that I rode. I had no idea it would be so powerful. It was a very sad moment for me. Erich, Marina, and Spencer all trained for their swimming competitions/ tests that they have coming up. While they did that, I just layed out, read, and sweated. After a nice day at the beach we went to a place to eat lunch, and outside of the little town was a pond/marsh. It had this sign posted. We thought nothing of it until we saw an object moving toward us in the water. That's right, we actually saw a wild alligator! It was crazy! I only had one moment of being scared after Spencer threw a corn on the cob at it and I thought for sure we'd be eaten. I now feel like I have told you every last unnecessary detail of our trip.

In other news...I have changed up the blog a little. I thought it was about time. What do you think? The picture is a little large. Oh well. Also, for those of you who are interested... KC's wedding pictures are posted. I along with KC am obsessed with them. I love the photographer. You should really check them out to see how awesome her wedding was. Well it seems you DID have fun in Charleston! That's funny about the restaurant and sucks that even after they told you the dress code you still got the evil eye.

It's funny cause we just went to Charleston 2 weeks ago too and even though I knew it wasn't a word, I said "sweated" the entire trip! As in "Mark, I can't believe how hot it is...my whole body is sweated through". I thought it sounded pretty sweet! :)

Thank you for being obsessed with my pictures... you are a good stalker... oops, I mean a good friend. I wish we had been in Charleston at the same time. Then we could've complained about the heat together, and maybe Ashton wouldn't have thought I was so ridiculous! Love you.
P.S. I meant to comment on this a while ago, but I forgot, and then I came back today to see if you updated, and you hadn't, so I decided I would comment... just so you know.
