Some of you may be unaware that good bands still exist. As a matter of fact the good bands from the mid-90s that many of us enjoyed are still putting out albums. They are not necessarily played on the radio or MTV (is any music?), but nevertheless, they put out albums time and time again. When I say album, they write and play 12-14 good to great songs. Not just some one hit wonder surrounded by bullshie (my new word-pronounced bul-shee).
Two such bands happened to be playing together all summer, LIVE and Collective Soul. LIVE happens to be my second favorite band and Collective Soul is #4. (Yes, I rank my bands.) Well, we drove up to Greenville, SC for a nice show with Brooke and Douglas. Greenville seemed like a very cozy city. Maybe we'll spend more time there one day.
Collective Soul came out with a new album recently. So they incorporated several of their new songs into a setlist that featured well known tunes such as "Run", "Why Pt 2", "World I Know", "December", and of course, "Shine". That song has never gotten old. They had good energy and tried to get the crowd involved.
LIVE always has the task of entertaining mild listeners (people who only know "Lightning Crashes" and "I Alone") plus lifelong fans (like myself). They opened up with "Rattlesnake" and proceeded to play a good mix between songs everyone knew and those only fans with the albums knew. They sounded great as usual (my 7th time seeing them). Ed always has a lot of energy and his voice is by far one of the best rock n' roll voices around today.
If you readers are out of touch with these bands, I recommend you get in touch. Just start off with the greatest hits album of each. It was a great show. Two great bands.

I think there's already a word, or rather a phrase, in Chinese pronounced the same or similarly to your bullshie word (maybe it's bool-shua?). I actually learned that from my econ and ethics professor at BYU. He seems to like that word too. And I think it means "not so" or something...just an FYI.
I love Collective Soul!!! We won tickets a couple of years ago and got to do a eat and greet thing with Ed!! It was awesome and he is so nice! Sounds like y'all had fun.
