As many of you know, Spencer graduated from OCS last weekend. His parents, my dad, his friend Erich, and I all went up for the events. Thursday night they had what's called a Hi Mom's Dinner. It was a chance for us to meet his friends, drill instructor, and other leaders at OCS. The food was delicious! We also had a chance to see his class get "beat".
Friday morning was graduation. It was fun to see them all attempt to march in formation (after watching the video of it, Spencer informed me that some people were off). They took their oath of office, and threw their hats. It was great. Then he had his first salute. That basically means that Spencer's drill instructor and senior class chief petty officer(i think), who have both been in the military for many years, actually saluted Spencer, after only completing 3 months of training. That's crazy! But that's just how it is - the officers outrank any enlisted guy. Oh, and please note that I do know my hair was looking disgusting the day of graduation. It was pouring down rain ALL day, and I just gave up on it.
After graduation we went out to eat at a nice pizza joint. We then went and saw Eagle Eye, then Spencer was ready for a nap. That's about all he's wanted to do since he's been done - catch up on sleep! His parents, my dad, and Erich went around Newport, driving through the rain to look at all the mansions. Then that night we just hung out at the hotel room, listening to Spencer tell all of his fun stories of OCS.
Fast forward one week, and here we are, moved in to our house in Virginia Beach, happy to be together again. Spencer had to report to school yesterday. The weather is beautiful - so we already spent a nice day at the beach taking advantage of the sun while it lasts. I think we'll really enjoy living here for the next 6 months. I'll try to get some pictures up sometime soon of what it looks like. We welcome any visitors!
So, all in all, our lives have changed once again. I think this was our 7th move in a little over 3 years of being married. It is so worth it though, to know that Spencer is happy with what he is doing. He is doing something important. I'm proud of you, Spencer, my sweet Ensign!

Congrats on graduating!
You're going to have to explain the saluting thing to me. And so now Spencer outranks any enlisted guy? I'm a little confused. I'm not familiar with all this military jargon.
And by the way miss you Stacy! It's time for a phone chat again!
Congrats Spencer! I know you both are so happy to have a plan and to know were your going to be for the next 6 months! I am so happy for yall!
