It has been a really exciting week for me already. My tennis team that I was on while in Georgia made it to the state playoffs. They really wanted me to come back and play. I told them that if I could book a week full of photo shoots, then I would be able to afford the flight home. Turns out, I had a great response, and was able to book 9 photo shoots - so I made the trip down.
The tournament was this past weekend. It consisted of a round robin, then the tournament finals. Our team went undefeated in the round robin. We even made it to the championship game, but sadly lost. We were missing a few of our players during the finals, and if we had the whole team, I am 100% sure we would have taken state. It was such a fun weekend with all the ladies. It definitely wore me out. I played 7 tennis matches in the course of 2 days! I actually won every single match that I played. The reason our team lost is because you have to win 2/3 lines to take the winning point. The final game came down to one line, and it was the most exciting/close game ever. Sadly we lost in a tie breaker. Anyways, it was great, and I'm glad that I was able to play.
Now on to volleyball. Remember The Warriors? Well I had played about 2 games with them before I moved to Virginia. To be honest, our team was pretty crappy during those first two games. Even after I moved, Lisa would always call me to update me on how the team did every Monday night. Well they ended up pulling off a win in the first round of the tournament (which we were seeded 6/8). The semis and final game were supposed to be last Monday, but because they set up the election stuff in the gym, they moved the game to this week. And what do you know, I was going to be in town! So I got to play with them, and let's just say it was some of the most fun volleyball I have ever played. Our team had made a complete turnaround in their play. We beat the first team, and made it to the championship game, against the same team we have played for the title the past 2 years. It was awesome. We ended up losing the first game, and winning the second. Sadly we lost the third game, which means I am just a second place nothing again. haha. I am now bruised, scarred, and extremely sore, but like I said, it was some of the best competitive volleyball, and was worth it. Big shout out to the warriors for playing so awesome! You guys rocked!
So now the photo shoots have begun. A big thanks to all those who booked with me. I'm hoping to dodge some of this rain, but I think it'll all work out. My brother Dean is also in town this week. He wanted to surprise our mom, so that was sweet. Should be a good week. Just an update for those who care - I did find a job in Virginia! Yay! I got a nanny job with a really nice family with 2 little girls. So now I won't be a big bum and sit at home all day. How exciting.
Here are some pics of me and my mom playing together in our matching outfits. My dad requested the first picture of us :)
