Cheesmans in Florida

I FINALLY got to introduce Eleanor to the rest of my family. It was a perfect week. No pressure to be anywhere or do anything. Just relax at the pool or beach and enjoy spending time with each other. I got to meet Donovan and Troy for the first time as well. Grandma and Grandpa Cheesman were in grandchild heaven.

In our attempt to get a shot of all the grandkids, Eleanor would never look up. She was way too busy playing in the sand. The one time she did look up, all the other boys looked down. Classic. I really love the pictures we got. Thanks to the handy tripod and self timer, we got these done in about 15 minutes.

There was one day at the beach where I took Eleanor in the water. There were some waves, but nothing too big. Well, once I actually got in the water, the waves started picking up, big time. Like really big waves. And I got really scared. I had Eleanor all the way above my head, and I was jumping up as high as I could to make sure she was above them. I tried to go out further to get past the break, but they only started breaking sooner. The waves eventually died down, but my heart rate didn't. I was so scared! Got back to shore and wondered how many people witnessed my attempts of sparing my daughter from drowning. Luckily I don't think she even got a splash in the face. Good thing I have long arms.

This happened to me when I was in Hawaii last September. I was pregnant and the waves didn't seem so bad. I took Aisley out and they totally picked up. I had to tell her to hold her breath a few times as we went through the waves - good thing she was old enough to understand what I was asking her. Maybe one of the scariest moments of my life because I felt like we kept moving out further and further but I couldn't go in because we'd get crashed on. I completely understand how you felt and my heart is beating fast just thinking about it again!
