Xterra 10K Trail Run at Kualoa Ranch

I've been wanting to go to Kualoa Ranch for a long time, but in order to take a tour of it, you have to purchase a horse back ride or ATV tour. We haven't really had a chance to do either of those, but once I saw that there would be a race at the ranch, I jumped on it. It is such a beautiful place, and what better way to see it than on foot?

Turns out maybe it wasn't the BEST way to see the views. The trail was really rocky, so most of the time we spent running, we had to look down to avoid twisting an ankle. The race itself was kind of difficult. The entire first 1.5 miles was uphill. A very steep uphill. After that it got easier, but then we hit parts where the trail was so narrow, that you had to walk. And all the walking made for a long line of runners waiting their turn to go through that part of the trail.

Other than Nathan's twisted ankle, we all did pretty well for ourselves and finished in decent times. The views were remarkable, the weather was nice and cool, and of course all the freebies at the end are always fun.
