Desmond - 2 Years Old

Desmond - My sweet little rolly polly.

I can't look at him without having my heart melt a little. He is so so terribly sweet.

He eats and eats and eats. He may be the shortest, but he's also the heaviest. His belly is no joke. He's my one and only squishy baby! After every meal, he gets out of his table, then immediately comes over to our table to see what other food he can take.

He has such a happy and pleasant demeanor. It seems like he walks around with a smile on his face all the time.

He is very sensitive to a lot of things, but has learned how to deal with those things on his own. He hates really loud noises, so when Spencer is using the drill to hang some pictures, he will back up until his feet are in the next room over.

He chipped a big chunk of his front tooth off while playing in the bath tub. He's definitely the most accident prone.

I've never met a kid his age be so obedient. He does everything I ask of him.

The poor boy has the most uncoordinated run I've ever seen. Arms up in the air, basically hopping up on his toes. I will be so sad when I can't see it with my own eyes anymore.

While he likes things like cars and animals, he really loves characters like Elmo and Mickey.

When he sees a new adult, he will walk up to them, about 6in away, then just look down and wait until they pick him up.

He gives hugs and kisses to anyone and everyone.

Every night, after I put his pajama pants on, he runs away as fast as he can to avoid putting his shirt on. Until I ask him to come back, which of course he then obeys.

When he throws a fit, he starts spinning around in circles, and eventually ends up on the ground, kicking his legs.

His speech is a tad behind. It's hard to understand anything he says unless he's pointing to a picture or using sign language while he says it.

He demands to hold the phone the second he sees Grandma and Papa on FaceTime.

If he has his mind set on doing something himself, he will throw a FIT if someone helps him do it. Then he'll have to restart everything and do it himself.

His favorite things to say are "Melmo"(Elmo) and "Cacka"(Cracker)

He loves looking at books - but especially those tiny mini cardboard books.

He is a plasma car professional driver. I kept thinking he was definitely going to crash, and every turn he made was just lucky - but he has proven that he knows exactly what he's doing. He flies around corners on that thing!

And now, a year's worth of pictures(in no particular order):
